Drop your track length and current position, drag the cue marker, and instantly see the gap to your next memory cue in seconds and in beats. The tool warns if any two cues are closer than 4 beats — that distance is so short it usually reads as a mistake to the audience.

Unique: translates bar/beat into the human-feel equivalent ("12 beats = ~3 seconds at 124 BPM"), so you don't have to do the mental arithmetic mid-set.

Stretch

BPM Time-Stretch Duration

Calculate how long a track will be after you stretch it to a target BPM. Side-by-side bar visualisation makes the gain/loss obvious at a glance. The tool warns above ±20% because that's the range where most algorithms (elastique, Rubberband, élastique pro) start to sound like a tape splice.

Unique: recommends the right algorithm for the situation — time-stretch preserves pitch but smears transients, repitch keeps the punch but shifts key, slice-and-shift is best for loop material.

A typical rhythm workflow

  1. 1. Open BPM Sync Phase Grid to see if your incoming and outgoing tracks are within a friendly ratio. If not, decide whether to pitch-shift, time-stretch, or just accept a beat-mixed transition.
  2. 2. If you're stretching, hop to Time-Stretch Duration to see how long the result will be and whether the algorithm will hold up at that stretch ratio.
  3. 3. Lay out your hot cues in Cue Point Distance — enter the track length, then drag the markers until the gap between each cue feels intentional.

FAQ

Why do my two decks drift even though I locked the BPMs?
Because numerical BPM lock and phase lock are different things. A 124.000 BPM and a 124.001 BPM will be off by 1 ms per beat, which compounds to about 192 ms by the end of a 4-minute track. The Phase Grid visualises this drift so you can see it before it becomes audible.
Can I stretch a 90 BPM acapella to 128 BPM without it sounding bad?
That's a 42% stretch — well past the threshold where time-domain algorithms degrade. The Time-Stretch tool will warn you. The realistic options are: pitch-shift + repitch, slice and re-pitch individual phrases, or just play it at a tempo that works (124 BPM sounds great with most acapellas).
What does swing actually do to my pattern?
Swing delays every off-beat 16th by some amount (typically 10–25% of the 16th-note duration). The Drum Pattern Builder visualises it as offset dots on the grid and audibly so you can pick the swing percentage that matches your genre.
Is there a way to copy the drum pattern to Ableton / FL Studio / MPC?
The builder outputs a plain-text pattern (`x...x...x..x..x.` style). Paste it into your DAW's MIDI editor as a starting point — you'll still need to assign the right samples, but the rhythm skeleton is yours.
